Patrice Bergeron

Although Michael Ryder was the big UFA signing in the off-season, Patrice Bergeron was most definitely the biggest “pick-up” the Bruins made. Patrice Bergeron, before his injury in the 10th game of the season last year was not only the Bruin’s best forward but also their best player. We forget how young Patrice is, given his experience, but the center is only 23. In his first complete season with the Bruins he had 31 goals and 42 assists for 73 points. It took Marian Hossa 3 years to reach 70 points, Joe Thornton 3 years to hit 71, and Vincent Leclavier five years to hit 78. This kid is for real. Great defensively and as legitimate a offensive threat as you’ll find in the league. With this “addition,” the Bruins are as deep at center as any team in the NHL.
