Marc Savard

The top line center was nothing short of magical last year. Despite a deficiency in goals, his passing was simply amazing to watch. He led the team in points, and assists with 78 and 63, respectively. Most impressive, however, was how much he improved defensively. Coach Claude Julien really wanted a great team defensive unit and Savard bought into that system, making him a much more complete player. With newly acquired “sniper” Michael Ryder, Savard’s assist total could go up even more this year, although I would be perfectly satisfied with another 60+ assist season.
