Blake Wheeler

The 6’5″ forward out of the University of Minnesota was the 5th overall pick in 2004. Thanks to a bit of persuasion from Cam Neely, the Bruins managed to sign him after negotiations fell through with Phoenix. The Bruins needed both depth and size on the wing and Wheeler provides both. Proven to have a scoring touch, this kid could develop into a pretty good power forward. He earned his spot in camp, time to see what he has. He will need to do very well to stay with the big club as his cap value is set at 2.8 mill.
